Thursday Ravenwood setup

Setup today started with some gusty winds! I was setting up the tent solo, and things were a bit dicey fighting against the wind before I got the corners tied down.
I used two sets of ground anchors with ratchet straps and 550lb paracord.

This was my first time using the screw in anchors and while they seemed to work great in the ground at my house, the larger auger style, which I have the ratchet straps connected to, tended to drill a hole more than anchor into the ground. The smaller more screw-like ones actually worked better here and I attached the secondary paracord lines to them.
It looks like for loose soil, the smaller screw anchors actually compress the material around them outward and form a denser area to hold in, making them a better choice in those conditions. The large ones just cut into the soil and hold as well as the soil does by itself. I’ll be bringing both types with me for future setups on grass or dirt!
Today was all about setting up the tent itself, getting the furniture on site, and, unfortunately, fighting against the wind. Tomorrow morning I’ll be hauling my inventory to the site, finishing the setup of the booth, and getting my items on display!
